Kathmandu: Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha shared his journey in the judiciary, emphasizing that once he embarked on this path, he never looked back. Speaking at a felicitation program organized in his honor by the Sudurpaschim Sarokar Manch (Far-west Concerned Forum), he reflected on his career, filled with achievements driven by his dedication and performance.
"I did not have to look back after entering the judiciary. I am always reaching the front position," Chief Justice Shrestha expressed, underscoring his consistent progression within the judicial service. He attributed his success to his unwavering commitment to excellence.
The Chief Justice expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him by the Forum and remarked that this recognition will inspire him to be even more active in advancing the judiciary's initiatives.
Recalling his early years, Chief Justice Shrestha recounted the challenges he faced when he embarked on his educational and career journey. Born in Doti district, which lacked road connectivity to Kathmandu at the time, he persevered despite having to travel through India to reach the capital. His dedication to his studies and career development eventually led to his remarkable achievements in the judicial service.
Expressing his deep affection for Sudurpaschim, his birthplace, he remarked that it is natural for individuals to feel a strong affinity with their hometown. Chief Justice Shrestha pledged his support and assistance to the Forum, emphasizing his commitment to their shared goals.
During the program, Forum president Bahadur Singh Bista highlighted the Forum's ongoing efforts and felicitated Chief Justice Shrestha on behalf of the organization. Founding patron of the Forum and former Inspector General of Police, Motilal Bohara, presented the Chief Justice with a shawl in recognition of his contributions. The event was attended by Forum advisors, office-bearers, and members.
Born on October 16, 1959, in Doti district of Sudurpaschim, Chief Justice Shrestha's journey began as a Section Officer in 1984. His academic accomplishments include a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's degree in Political Science from Tribhuvan University.
Throughout his career, he held positions such as Deputy Registrar at the Supreme Court and eventually ascended to the role of Chief Justice of Nepal, appointed by the President on August 22. His career has been marked by dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to the judiciary's advancement.
